Privacy Policy — Vice Atlas
Vice Atlas ("we", "our", or "the app") is a GTA VI companion app developed by Sokyra Labs. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
Vice Atlas stores most of your preferences and progress locally on your device. Certain optional features require storing data in our cloud database (Firestore). The following information may be processed:
- Anonymous authentication — the app uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to assign you a unique, randomly generated identifier (UID). No name, email, or personal information is required or collected during this process.
- Tracker data & app preferences — your in-app progress (checklist states, coin balance, streak, daily activity) and settings (language, theme). Stored locally only via SharedPreferences.
- Public profile (optional) — if you choose to participate in leaderboards, you may create a public profile. This profile is stored in our Firestore database and contains:
- A display nickname (chosen by you, 3–20 characters)
- An avatar ID (a preset icon index, no photo)
- Aggregated in-app statistics: quiz score, best login streak, cards unlocked, achievements completed, coins earned, days active
- Your Firebase anonymous UID (as the document key)
- Profile creation date
- News & media content — articles, wallpapers, and trailer data are fetched from our Firestore database. No personal data is sent or stored in this process.
- Advertising data — the app uses Google AdMob to display banner and interstitial advertisements (unless you purchased the No Ads option). AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Crash & diagnostics data — Firebase may collect anonymized crash reports to help us identify and fix issues. See Firebase's Privacy Policy.
2. How We Use Data
- To provide core app functionality (news feed, tracker, daily challenges, media gallery)
- To remember your preferences and progress across sessions
- To deliver up-to-date GTA VI news, wallpapers, and trailers from our database
- To power the optional leaderboard feature (requires a public profile)
- To display relevant advertisements via AdMob (for users without No Ads)
- To identify and fix crashes via Firebase
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties, except:
- Google AdMob — advertising identifiers for ad delivery (users without No Ads only)
- Google Firebase / Firestore — content delivery (news, wallpapers, trailers) and, if you opt in, your public leaderboard profile (nickname, avatar, stats)
- Google Firebase Authentication — anonymous UID generation; no personal information is shared
Public leaderboard profiles (nickname, avatar, aggregated stats) are visible to other authenticated users of the app.
4. Data Storage and Security
Most data (progress, preferences, coin balance) is stored locally on your device via Android SharedPreferences and can be deleted by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
If you create a leaderboard profile, it is stored in Google Firestore in the users/{uid} document. Access is secured by Firestore Security Rules: only you can write to your own profile, and only authenticated users can read profiles. You can permanently delete your Firestore profile at any time via Settings → Delete Profile inside the app.
5. Internet Access
Vice Atlas requires internet access to load news articles, wallpapers, trailer thumbnails, and leaderboard data. All connections use HTTPS. We do not intercept or log your network requests.
6. Children's Privacy
Vice Atlas is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Your Rights & Data Deletion
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Delete local data — clear the app's data in your device settings or uninstall the app.
- Delete your leaderboard profile — use the Delete Profile option in Settings inside the app. This permanently removes your nickname, avatar, and all stats from our Firestore database.
- Data access & portability — contact us at the email below for any data-related requests.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
