Privacy Policy

Data We Collect

Your personal budget (accounts, transactions, categories, debts, goals) is stored locally on your device. If you use Shared Budget or Kapva Kids, the data below is also synced through our Firebase servers so the people you invite can see it.

The following information may be processed:

Financial data

Transactions, account balances, categories, and goals you enter for your personal budget. Stored locally only.

Shared Budget data

If you create or join a Shared Budget space, transaction amounts, types, notes and dates are synced via Firebase Firestore so members of that space can see them, along with the display name you choose for the space. A free space supports up to 2 members; leaving a space removes your access, and a space with no members left is automatically deleted after 3 days.

Kapva Kids data

If you set up Kapva Kids, each child's transactions (amount, type, account name, note, date, currency) are synced via Firebase Firestore so you can review their spending from your own device. A share code links a child's data to your account, and you can revoke or rotate it at any time to cut off access.

Anonymous account identifier

Shared Budget and Kapva Kids use a Firebase-issued anonymous ID to identify your device — no email, phone number or name is required to use these features.

AI queries

When you use the AI assistant, a summary of your financial data (without personally identifying information) is sent to Google Gemini API to generate insights. No data is stored on our side.

Advertising data

The app uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. See Google's Privacy Policy.

How We Use Data

• To provide core app functionality (tracking, statistics, reports)
• To sync Shared Budget and Kapva Kids data between your devices and the people you invite
• To generate AI-powered financial insights via the Gemini API
• To display relevant advertisements via AdMob

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties, except:

• Firebase (Google Cloud) — Shared Budget and Kapva Kids transaction data, so it can sync between the members you invite
• Google Gemini API — anonymized financial summaries for AI responses
• Google AdMob — advertising identifiers for ad delivery

If you have Weekloom installed on the same device, Kapva can expose an aggregated weekly total (type, currency and total amount only — no individual transactions) to it through a local, on-device connection. This never leaves your device and involves no network transmission.

Data Storage and Security

Your personal budget is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database. Shared Budget and Kapva Kids data is additionally stored on Firebase (Google Cloud) infrastructure, protected by Google's standard security practices and access rules that restrict each space to its members. You can export and delete your local data at any time from the app's Settings screen.

Biometric Authentication

If you enable biometric lock, the app uses your device's built-in biometric APIs (fingerprint / Face ID). Biometric data is never accessed or stored by the app — it is handled entirely by your device's operating system.

Children's Privacy

Kapva is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your Rights

You can delete all local app data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings. You can leave a Shared Budget space or revoke a Kapva Kids share code at any time from within the app, which removes your access immediately; a space with no members left is deleted from our servers after 3 days.
