Privacy Policy

Ignis ("we", "our", or "the app") is an AI-powered calorie and nutrition tracking application developed by Sokyra Labs. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

On-device by default

Nutrition data, diary entries and goals are stored locally in an encrypted database — not on our servers.

No data sold

We don't sell or trade your data. It only reaches Google Gemini (AI insights) and AdMob (ads), never bundled with your identity.

Health Connect, on request

Steps and weight are read only after you grant permission, and used solely to power the dashboard.

Delete anytime

Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes everything — there's nothing left on our side to ask us to delete.

Data We Collect

Ignis stores all nutrition data (meals, diary entries, goals) locally on your device. We do not collect or store your personal health data on our servers.

The following information may be processed:

Nutrition data: Meals, calorie logs, macros, and health goals you enter. Stored locally only.
AI queries: Text messages to the AI assistant are sent to Google Gemini API to generate nutrition insights and recommendations. No conversation history is stored on our servers.
Scale photo (Premium): If you use the Premium "scan a scale photo" feature, the picture you pick from your gallery is sent to the Google Gemini API to read the displayed weight value. The photo is used only to extract that number and is not stored on our servers afterward.
Health Connect data: On Android, Ignis may read step count and body weight from Android Health Connect. This data is used solely to display your daily activity on the dashboard and to improve calorie burn estimates. It is never transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.
Purchase data: Premium subscriptions are handled by RevenueCat, which processes your purchase and entitlement status on our behalf. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Advertising data: The app uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. See Google's Privacy Policy.

How We Use Data

To provide core app functionality (calorie tracking, diary, statistics)
To generate AI-powered nutrition insights and recommendations via Gemini API
To read a weight value from a scale photo you choose, for Premium users
To display your step count and weight from Health Connect on the dashboard
To process Premium subscription purchases via RevenueCat
To display relevant advertisements via AdMob

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties, except:

Google Gemini API — anonymized text queries and, for Premium scale-photo readings, the photo itself, used only to generate a response.
RevenueCat — purchase and subscription status, to manage your Premium entitlement.
Google AdMob — advertising identifiers for ad delivery.

Health Connect data (steps, weight) is never shared with any third party.

If you have Weekloom installed on the same device, Ignis can expose aggregated weekly activity totals (workout count, workout minutes, workout calories, average daily calories and water intake — no diary entries or meal details) to it through a local, on-device connection. This never leaves your device and involves no network transmission.

Data Storage and Security

All your nutrition data is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database. You can export and delete your data at any time from the app's Settings screen.

Camera Permission

Ignis requests access to your device camera for barcode scanning — to quickly identify food products by their barcode. No photos are captured, stored, or transmitted for this feature. Camera access is only activated when you explicitly tap the scan button in the food search screen.

Separately, Premium users can pick a photo of a bathroom scale from their gallery (or take a new one) to have its reading logged automatically. That photo is sent to the Google Gemini API to extract the displayed weight value; it is not stored on our servers afterward and is only ever used for this one-time reading.

Health Connect

On Android devices, Ignis integrates with Android Health Connect to read the following data types:

Steps: To display your daily step count on the activity dashboard.
Weight: To use your body weight in calorie burn calculations.

Access to Health Connect data is requested only after your explicit consent. You can revoke this permission at any time through Android Health Connect settings. This data is stored locally and is never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.

Children's Privacy

Ignis is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your Rights

You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings. Health Connect permissions can be revoked independently via the Health Connect app. For any privacy-related requests, contact us at the email below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
