Privacy Policy — Ignis
Ignis ("we", "our", or "the app") is an AI-powered calorie and nutrition tracking application developed by Sokyra Labs. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
Ignis stores all nutrition data (meals, diary entries, goals) locally on your device. We do not collect or store your personal health data on our servers.
The following information may be processed:
- Nutrition data — meals, calorie logs, macros, and health goals you enter. Stored locally only.
- AI queries — text messages to the AI assistant are sent to Google Gemini API to generate nutrition insights and recommendations. No conversation history is stored on our servers.
- Health Connect data — on Android, Ignis may read step count and body weight from Android Health Connect. This data is used solely to display your daily activity on the dashboard and to improve calorie burn estimates. It is never transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.
- Advertising data — the app uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. See Google's Privacy Policy.
2. How We Use Data
- To provide core app functionality (calorie tracking, diary, statistics)
- To generate AI-powered nutrition insights and recommendations via Gemini API
- To display your step count and weight from Health Connect on the dashboard
- To display relevant advertisements via AdMob
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties, except:
- Google Gemini API — anonymized text queries for AI responses. No personal identifiers are included.
- Google AdMob — advertising identifiers for ad delivery.
Health Connect data (steps, weight) is never shared with any third party.
4. Data Storage and Security
All your nutrition data is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database. You can export and delete your data at any time from the app's Settings screen.
5. Camera Permission
Ignis requests access to your device camera exclusively for barcode scanning — to quickly identify food products by their barcode. No photos are captured, stored, or transmitted. Camera access is only activated when you explicitly tap the scan button in the food search screen.
6. Health Connect
On Android devices, Ignis integrates with Android Health Connect to read the following data types:
- Steps — to display your daily step count on the activity dashboard.
- Weight — to use your body weight in calorie burn calculations.
Access to Health Connect data is requested only after your explicit consent. You can revoke this permission at any time through Android Health Connect settings. This data is stored locally and is never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.
7. Children's Privacy
Ignis is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Your Rights
You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings. Health Connect permissions can be revoked independently via the Health Connect app. For any privacy-related requests, contact us at the email below.
